A look at what goes on out there
Chuck and Jim show
off some very large
fish. The orange colored fish are
rock fish and the gray fish are Black cod. They are holding
them up with a
gaff.
A gaff has a curved hook that enables the fisherman to help bring
a
larger
fish aboard that otherwise may slip off the hook.
All vessels can expect a boarding
party from the U. S. Coast Guard. Documentation and
licenses are
checked and the vessel's
safety equipment is inspected. Among the
required items include a fully equipped
life raft, EPIRB, survival suits for each person
on board.

Look Captain! There be whales there!
